Tory,
I've read your posts on ars for a year and admire you
greatly for your honesty and outspokenness. I would
appreciate it if you would post this message and forget
where it came from, as I do not have your courage and
integrity.
For now I'm too scared of the CoS to do this, but an
effective way to picket would be to target not the public
but SO members. There are only three entrances into the
HGB. The front door on Hollywood at 6331 Hollywood Bowl.
and the LRH Exhibition door right next to it and the other
one is just around the corner on Ivar. There is no other
practical way in or out of the building. Almost all the
staff/students arrive in buses around 8 or 8:30a.m. or so
and they have to pass through one of these doors on the way
in or out. Even OSA. Even DM.
I remember once being told to leave at night by the back
stairs when there were pickets out front, and thinking how
strange that although we were "powerful OT's who should be
running the planet" 500 of us were the complete effect of a
couple of unarmed guys waving placards.
Picketing during the day does not reach the average SO
member. Picketing next to all three entrances/exits when
500 of them HAVE to walk past you would cause many to
think. They are not all braindead. Maybe they will start
shipping them in at 5a.m. to avoid a picket at 8:30a.m.!
Word would rapidly reach people on the buses that picketing
is in progress, and a handling would be done. But what?
Either they drive the buses around and around the block for
an hour until the pickets leave or are nullified in some
way, or they let the people off. If they let them off
either they let them see what is on the signs or they tell
them not to look as it is "dangerous", "OT
materials" etc.
If signs have effective messages, a sensible message would
get through to a lot of Sea Org members, whether or not
they even read anything.
Message examples, reinforced by the actions going on at the
time:
500 SO members scared of two signs?
Better ones could be thought of.
That would cause an effect.
In fear,
