Re Should You hook Up with any group that belongs to W.I.S.E.
My name is Tory Christman and I was a member of an organization called “The
Church of Scientology” (Referred to as C of S) for 30 years. In July 2000, I
woke up, realized this group wasn’t a ‘religion’ by any definition I knew,
and I left for good.
However, I would like to share with you some of my experiences with this
group, W.I.S.E and what it actually has to do with C of S.
If you are someone considering hiring someone who has called you to
"Consult increasing your business." My first suggestion is this:
Ask them if they are members of W.I.S.E. Please realize this: W.I.S.E is an
organization of the Church of Scientology, and although the people calling
you will insist it has "nothing to do with Scientology", in truth it very
much does. How? First off, the material you will be studying will be "The
Hubbard Management Technologies", written by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of The
Church of Scientology. Secondly, it is the basic purpose of every
Scientologist to help other people by "Clearing" them. This is a process
used within C of S. Although you may come in from your business, these
"Business Consultants" are always looking for ways to bring you into
Scientology.
If you don't believe me, ask them! Tell them if you are going to hire them,
you want it in writing that you will never be asked to join Scientology. I
can almost promise you, they won't do it. They will laugh it off, or joke,
or even promise this, but they won’t put it in writing.
Keep in mind that these "tools" cost from them, hundreds of thousands of
dollars. Basically, they are basic business tools you can buy at Barnes and
Noble for $24.99. Are they worthless? No, they are not. However, they do
have strings, and those strings (C of S) cost many thousands.
People such as myself have lost all of my 30-years friends, and my husband
of 27 years, just because I changed my mind. Hubbard wrote a policy called
"Disconnection" where Scientologists have to either "Handle or Disconnect"
from family and friends who are critical of Scientology. This is a very
serious thing to keep in mind. If you are going to join this group, make
sure you understand fully want all it entails. I know of some Doctors who
were asked to divorce their wives, because their wives were not happy with
their husbands (or Visa versa) joining Scientology. I know that sounds
outrageous, and all I ask is that before you pay a dime, you do full
research on who and what this group really is.
If you are an employee and your boss is considering joining Scientology
If your employer is considering joining Scientology, here are just a few
tips. First off, make sure not to ‘attack’ this concept. If your boss has
actually joined Scientology, there is a very good chance he/she will have to
get rid of you, if you are critical of his or her decision. Many
Scientologists will keep on non-Scientologists, if they are not what
Scientology considers "Antagonistic" to Scientology.
Secondly, let’s say your boss asks you honestly what you think about
Scientology (He/She is considering joining it, but hasn't yet). You might
want to consider explaining briefly to them that there is more than meets
the eye, and you will try to get a Web page showing both sides.
Many times W.I.S.E. Business consultants try to distant themselves from the
organization, C of S, until their ‘client’ needs more personal help. At
this time the business client will be asked to ‘have dinner’ with his
consultant, often at a church of Scientology known as "Celebrity
Center."
Usually the consultants have it set up with a person who helps get people
going within Scientology. So this person will be introduced, usually at
dinner, or shortly after. At that time there will either be an interview
(Where they try to find what you need, to get you in and “on the Bridge”) or
they will ask you to do a “Personality Test”. This test is set up so they
can find things you are weak in, and of course Scientology is your
solution.
If you find out your boss is meeting with Scientologists, it can get very
tricky. Again, you have to assess where things are. Find out. Is he/she
reading a book? Which one? Is he taking courses? Where? What does he like
about Scientology? I understand these are not really business questions, so
it can get tricky for you, and is something only you can decide if it’s
appropriate to mention, or not.
Is Scientology all bad?
Obviously since I was in it for 30 years, I’d say, no, I don’t think it
is….at leas the beginning things. It is extremely manipulative, and because
the members have no clue of the abusive side of it, and are actually cut off
from learning about it, because of that, yes, it is dangerous to really get
very involved.
People often say to me, "But Scientologists are SO nice."
Of course they are! (They want something from you!)
That is a great part of the attraction. However, these very nice people,
same as I was, have actually slowly been cut off from reading anything
Scientology doesn’t want them to read. I cannot stress enough, read the
Internet. There are many facts there that Scientology will not tell you.
"All the critics of Scientology are just Religious Bigots"
If the person working to get you in finds out you are reading the
Internet, you will find them telling you horrible stories about each person,
myself included. They didn’t really have any “Dirt” on me, so guess what?
They made it up! This is true of many (if not all) of the people who help
expose their lies and abuses. Hubbard wrote a Policy called, “Fair Game”.
This is a policy where Hubbard writes, “You can lie, cheat, Steal, destroy
them utterly”, speaking of people critical of Scientology, called
"Suppressive People". One of their ways is to create huge
lies about their critics, and post it publicly.
They used to parade around people’s homes, carrying signs with lies on them,
trying to slander them. Most public Scientologists are totally unaware of
these Fair Game actions. Scientologists insist this policy has been
cancelled. I did too. In fact, I stood up in court and insisted, “Fair Game
was cancelled years ago!” Nothing could be farther from the truth.
I thought it was true. Yes, Hubbard wrote a policy saying it is
cancelled; however at the end he says, “This policy does not apply to
Suppressive Persons”. Well, the only people Scientology will use Fair Game
on are Suppressive People! Hubbard said, “You can lie, cheat, steal, destroy
them utterly”. L. Ron Hubbard. Scary? You bet! Again, please read the
Internet.
Read the court documents with their own people testifying. Read stories of
people who were members and are now out. They will claim we're just this and
that. No, we're people who spent years trying to fully do Scientology, and
for one reason or another, we left. Most of us found it just didn’t work.
Others were abused to great lengths, and finally left. Others were greatly
harmed mentally. I personally know 4 young men who took their own lives, and
each one was either wanting out of Scientology, or had one parent in, and
one parent out.
This isn't a little game, or a fun group to join. It may look like it, as
you are being wined and dined by what they call, "Opinion Leaders".
However, if you care about your life, and your family, and your friends,
you will take this time to study more, before having one more meeting with
any of them.
I wish you well!
