When Tory was a Volunteer With Scientology
Scientology likes to boast about their VM program. I'd like to share
with you something I did while "in", as a volunteer. I used to
help out the Office of Special Affairs, as many of you know.
This is just one story, that shows something I did, thinking I was just
Keeping Scientology Working. I saw nothing wrong with this, and in fact,
was quite proud of what I pulled off. The Executives of Scientology,
including Ken Hoden, the then President of Scientology, were thrilled
with what I did.
Mostly I did PR type things when I was volunteering for OSA but
occasionally they'd "Use" me, and yup, I stepped up to the
plate.
Here is one example of something I did and Scientology's reaction:
During the Wallersheim Trial an x-Scientologist named Frank Nataro
showed up with a t-Shirt with the words "BT" all over it
(Top confidential word) -- and XENU on the back.
The Executives were freaked out and called the police. There were
hundreds of Scientologists in the park and Ken Hoden along the street
while the cops took Nataro across the street.
I looked at Ken and said, "Don't you think someone should go over
there?" (I meant him, he was the President of C of S).
He looked at me and said, "Yes, go handle it".
I walked across the street, and put my hand over "XENU" and
Frank started freaking out, telling me to stop touching him.
I then said, "Frank, you forgot to take your medication, didn't
you?"
He had shaved his head, and back then, he did look pretty wild and
when I said that, he went nuts, screaming "I DON'T TAKE
MEDICATION!""
I looked at the cops and smiled and said quietly, "Frank, you know
you take medication and my guess is you're off of it today".
(Note: No one told me to do this, this was just something that came out
at the last moment. My main intention was to get the top secret words
out of public view.)
Before I knew it, they pushed Frank into the cop car, and off they drove.
I admit, even I was surprised.
Scientology was THRILLED! Tory had gotten rid of the big bad SP!!!
For years people told that story, and gloated about how I'd handled the SP.
Looking back, I just thought I was being a good Scientologist, and
keeping the Top Secret information out of the public's eyes.
Now I see how frightenly manipulative that was and how of course the
police sided with me, just because I was SO calm, and he was so freaked
out.
Just thought you might like an example of how the public within
Scientology get into this kind of thing.
My best to all,
