Scientology has a few things they use to get in the door, so to speak.
Hubbard wrote, "The Way to Happiness" to use to basically "Safepoint"
Scientology.
Here's how it works:
1. Scientology (C of S Sea Org members) go out and survey an area, to find
out what the 'buttons' are of the local area.
2. They then have reg's (usually FSM's) who sell the program to various
people. Key people have been Doctors, Dentists, Chiropractors.
This is done by presenting the key buttons of their community, and making
them feel like they need to "handle" these buttons.
Let's say the kids have bad relations with their parents, and they use
drugs.
Ok, so WTH will promote to these Dr's, etc. that it is THEIR responsibility
to fix these problems.
Now I don't disagree that the local community should of course help out.
However, as you'll see, this has an entirely different slant.
In the past, (and may still be) WTH would literally be scheduled into
seminars for Dr's at WISE companies. During the business seminar, the WTH
reg's would come in, "educate them on the programs", and basically strong
arm them into paying thousands of dollars for their local program and
booklets.
3. The Catch.
Why would Doctors fork out money for this? Well, usually they are caring
people and they do want to help their community. Scientology, via WTH,
promises to print up the booklets that have the basic principles that are
supposed to up the general moral codes, and the Dr. gets his or her name and
address printed on the back. (Supposedly good PR for him).
Also, with the agreement, is that Scientology (via WTH) will distribute
these booklet's, but the Dr's, etc. do too, via their offices.
4. The * real* Catch.
Ok, so now.........what has just happened? Well, Scientology has placed
their names via L. Ron Hubbard, who wrote the book Way to Happiness, in
major communication lines throughout the city.
There is an entire separate program that goes into schools. The school
program I am still for, as I saw such fabulous results with it, while I
helped them. The lady who runs this I honestly believe just cares about the
kids, and the kids do have superb results from playing contests to better
their environments.
I never saw any results via the Dr's, and I still feel it's just a scam to
get Hubbard's name into the hearts and minds of the general public, via
someone they trust.
This poor soul has no idea what he or she is actually being used for.
Con? You tell me.
All the best :)
